KBKB Compressor

About KB Compressor

KB Compressor exists because most image compressors ask the wrong question. They offer a "high / medium / low" quality slider, when the thing you actually need is much more specific: a college application portal, a job application form, or a visa photo upload that rejects anything over a hard limit like 100 KB or 240 KB. Getting there by trial and error — drag the slider, re-upload, get rejected, try again — wastes time on forms that are often already stressful enough.

This tool asks for the number you actually have (the KB limit from the form) and works backward from it, searching for the highest image quality that still lands at or under your target, rather than the other way around.

Everything runs locally in your browser using the HTML Canvas API. Your photo is never uploaded to a server, never stored, and never leaves your device — there's nothing to upload to, since there's no backend at all.

KB Compressor is an independent tool, not affiliated with any government agency, university, employer, or application portal it's used with.
